Build Behaviours. Build Bones
A structured framework for integrating behaviour, tissue adaptation, and metabolic health into everyday clinical care - and into real lives.
Founder
Dr Ruth White
Welcome, I’m Dr Ruth White
I worked as a clinical physiotherapist, face-to-face, for almost 40 years. The last 20 years being in the public pain clinic at the John Hunter Hospital, in Newcastle, NSW Australia.
I worked with thousands of patients with complex health histories. I also worked extensively in the clinical mastery, mentorship space.
I also live with low bone density.
That experience shifted something for me.
Bone change is silent and slow.
What I saw both clinically and personally, was that people, particularly newly diagnosed women, were finding it challenging to get started.
I am not trying to replace any existing loading systems or branded programs. In fact, I teach the same evidenced based protocols most phsyiotherapists and exercise physiologists in the bone space teach.
So, what is different?
For patients, I help make your bone plan more simple, less frightening and more repeatable. I am not opening a competing clinic or patient facing service, instead my aim is to support clinicians and rehabilitation systems already in place.
For clinicians, the intensive 10 Hour CPD Clinical Mastery course I offer covers not only bone metabolism information and a pain aware approach, but is underpinned by advanced behaviourally specific science, communication training (CBT, motivational interviewing, ARCS, teach back, socratic style, dealing with complex and difficult clients) as that is what my mentees have sought from me for the past decade.
I hope to see you inside one of the courses soon.
Take care, Ruth
Member, Australasian Metabolic Health Society.
#BoneHealth needs to be recognised by everyone.
I am not trying to replace any existing loading systems or branded programs.
I believe the differentiator is the behaviour, implementation and psychologically informed overlay plus broader metabolic nutritional lens.
#BoneTissue does not adapt in isolation.
• Osteogenic (Mechanical) load provides the stimulus for the bone cells
• The metabolism of #BoneTissue is underpins the ability of the body to grow new bone
• Environment determines whether the plan is repeatable
The workshop and mastery program are the pathways to understanding bone health from a whole person perspective.

Step-by-step Foundational Workshop
This workshop provides women with step- by- step guidance to preserve and build bone density. Men are so very welcome to complete the course too, though be aware, the language is female focused.
Inside the workshop, I teach you exactly how to get started safely and show you the evidence of how to improve your bone health with loading and adequate nutrition.
The workshop is also suitable for clinicians who want a “light” course in bone health.
Further, women who are wanting to preserve bone density after cancer treatment for example are finding the workshop helpful.
And then, there’s women with an osteoporosis diagnosis, like myself who want to follow the evidence and maximise bone quality and density.
What you receive
• Step-by-step short filmed lessons. Save and continue the workshop at any stage. Full written lessons and downloads. The films are not closed captioned.
• I teach the importance of two protected strength sessions most weeks
• I teach how to manage pain
• I teach how to progress safely
• I guide around bone nutrition
There are 16 downloads and 8 separate modules.
I answer questions from you via email once you have commenced the course. I have some capacity to update the written course materials if there is information that you specifically request me to research for you.
The workshop and lessons are not intense, they are deliberately short, however it will take you around six hours to work through all the modules in the workshop.
The workshop also teaches what to do when things come off the rails - whatever the reason may be.
Bone adapts slowly.
Consistency wins.
I would love for you to work through the workshop and message me what you have found helpful, or what you would appreciate being added.
Remember, I am not “taking over” from your existing treating team, I’m simply adding to it :)

10 Hour CPD Intensive Course: Behaviour Change + Communication + Metabolic Bone Health +Pain for Mastery of Complexity
#BoneScience is where #PainScience was twenty years ago. Back then, complex pain clients were only seen in chronic pain units.
In due course, I firmly believe patients experiencing metabolic bone problems will be treated from a whole person perspective by every PT/EP who has undergone metabolic bone training. The B.O.N.E.S framework training will follow the clinician.
The intensive 10 Hour CPD Clinical Mastery course I offer covers not only bone metabolism information and a pain aware approach, but is specifically underpinned by advanced behavioural science, which was the basis of my PhD.
The course includes extensive communication training including:
The importance of acceptability
A whole person assessment method
CBT in practice
Effective use of motivational interviewing
Use of the ARCS model (Acknowlede, Respect, Curiosity and Support)
Proper use of teach back
Socratic style
Dealing with complex and difficult clients.
Integrating B.O.N.E.S into normal practice (Behaviour, Osteogenic loading, Nutritional adequacy, environment, Systems)
It is this clinical communication mastery training that my mentees have sought from me for the past decade.
I am not trying to replace any existing loading systems or branded programs.
I believe the differentiator is the behaviour, implementation and psychologically informed overlay plus broader metabolic nutritional lens.
Further, I am not opening a competing clinic or patient facing service, instead my aim is to support clinicians and rehabilitation systems already in place.
The course is intense.
There are 72 filmed and written lessons. The lessons could be completed over 10-12 intensive hours, or taken at a slower pace. There are multiple downloads and a GP slide deck for your referrer talks.
I provide a certificate of completion when the final quizz is passed. You can attempt multiple times.
If you are unsure, some clinicians have been buying the consumer course as a view to structured support from a patient perspective.
I look forward to meeting you soon and supporting you to become a future metabolic #BoneScience enthusiast with the skills to apply your new knowledge immediately in clinic, across the lifespan.
